Welcome Spring!
Cheese and Bread
- Broken Shovels Farms' flavored chevres. Ad-dic-tive. With a crispy rye cracker and little glass of cold, cold gin. Very Scandinavian, very hip.
- Taleggio. Like a Northern Italian hug. This spreadable, pungent cheese is delicious with our fresh baked Marczyk baguette.
- Barber’s English Cheddar. From an 1833 recipe. Serve with any Ritz-like cracker, and don’t forget the Real Dill Pickles on the side! On special for $9.99/lb.
Dinner
Start with an Asparagus Soup with Parmesan Shortbread Coins from our friends at The Urban Almanac.
Grass fed beef tenderloins. The best of the best. Brian brokered a beautiful deal on this very special cut, so everyone wins! $19.99/lb. Serve with…Baby Artichokes with a Caper-Mint Sauce. Such a beautiful beautiful seasonal veggie.
A simple grilled chicken dinner. This recipe, Dijon Tarragon Grilled Chicken, with our Boulder Natural fresh chickens, will be a crowd pleaser! Serve with…Purple bok choy. A stunning midnight purple version. Grown exclusively for us by The Grow Haus, a Denver company. Local! Raw Purple Bok Choy Salad.
Very Special Products!
Marczyk Rye breads. Nowhere else in Denver will you find rye breads like these! All hand made at our 17th Avenue bakery.
- Paul’s Polish Chleb. A customer came in last week and accosted Paul. “Is this real Polish rye? Because my son lives in Poland and they have the best bread, better than the French!” Paul assured her it was, but she still opened the bag, pulled out a slice, and tasted it. “This is the best bread I’ve had since I got back from Poland,” she said, bought the loaf, and walked out happy.
- Flaxseed rye. Talk about good for you! Organic flour, whole grains, and it makes the best PB & J.
- Jewish rye. Embrace your inner Polish Jew. Here’s the taste you remember from growing up. A rich tasting bread crunchy with caraway seeds, and not squishy like a commercial loaf.
Anson Mills
What lengths will Marczyk’s go to bring you the world’s finest foods? Great lengths. Anson Mills is a wholesale maker and distributor of heirloom grain oats, polenta, grits, and popcorn to name just a few. We buy them in bulk and package and freeze them (the whole grain means a short shelf life). We are only retailer in the country who sells these. They are amazing. The grits and polenta are full of real corn flavor, and the toasted stone cut oats, with buttermilk and brown sugar, will make you think you’re at the Ritz for breakfast. Please try them.
Anson Mills Grits & Shrimp. Your mama’s going to love this! Our recent shipment of Anson Mills blue corn grits inspired blogger (and staffer) Whitney Ariss to give them a try. She was mighty impressed, as you will be.
Steaks of the Month:
Grass fed New York Strip Steaks from Teton Waters. This is one of our favorites! $18.99/lb.
Bison Culotte Steak. A Top Sirloin Cap Steak, and the classic cut for steak frites. $14.99.
