2007 Best of From Marczyk's!
01/10/2008
"Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh page. Take up one hole more in the buckle if necessary, or let down one, according to circumstances; but on the first of January let every man gird himself once more, with his face to the front, and take no interest in the things that were and are past."
- Henry Ward Beecher
Best of 2007!
Best High End/Low End Appetizers
The Dufour frozen hors d’oeuvres, $12.99 for 12, is a necessary luxury for entertaining. Elegant and delicious, serve these with our crab cakes turned into mini cakes and you have a party! Alexandra’s frozen Pierogi, $4.99 for 12, inspires 1 customer to write this: “Dear Marczyk's Team, I cannot tell you just how AMAZING and AUTHENTIC the frozen Pierogi (Vareniki) that you have in stock are. Year after year my twin sister and I slave away making hundreds of Pierogi for our family. (Our family lineage is from the Ukraine ). This holiday season we contemplated if we should go to the effort of making the family Christmas Eve meal from scratch because it generally takes a full day with each of us handling a step in the process to make these yummy delights. I received an email that advertised a dozen Pierogi for $4.99. The very next day, I stopped in to purchase some…to critique. I brought them home and prepared them right away by boiling them and then sautéing onions in fresh butter with kosher salt. They were FANTASTIC!!! My twin sister and I will never make another Pierogi (Vareniki) from scratch ever again!”

The Greek Gods Pomegranate or Fig Yogurt is the richest, most flavorful yogurt we have ever tried. The first time I tasted it I thought “How did they get so much flavor into this little cup?” Then I read the ingredients: cream, pure cane suger, honey…rich, thick, sweet, better than cake!

Best letter we received
Sure we get notes all the time, some good, some bad, but the following was too out there to be believed. It was sent from England.
“Dear sir, I wonder if you can help me. On a recent visit to Katmandu ( Nepal ) I found a jacket in the airport containing car keys, phone, etc belonging to a Rob Harold. All my efforts in Nepal and home have been fruitless and my last chance is the barcode for your food store on the key ring. If you can identify his address from the barcode, perhaps I can return his lost items. Yours sincerely, Alex Logan.”
We reunited our customer with his lost items, thanks to his frequent shopper card on his keychain! We keep telling you to keep your cards with you…
