Chef Jacques Pepin in person at Marczyk Fine Foods
Denver, CO - Before there was “Bam!”, before chefs cooked naked, there was a chef named Jacques Pepin, an eloquent, elegant French chef. He was the personal chef for three heads of state including Charles de Gaulle, is the author of more than 20 cookbooks, and the star of the award-winning Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home PBS series.
M. Pepin will be at the market Monday, May14th, from 10:00AM-11:30AM to sign his most recent book: Chez Jacques. Books are available for purchase for $45 each, or customers can bring their own Pepin cookbooks for him to sign. Marczyk Fine Foods is honored to be included in a handful of Denver book signing events, and we will serve a dish from the book to celebrate.
Chez Jacques is a beautiful big book, a visual autobiography which includes 100 of his favorite recipes. “Pepin shares his food rituals, from picking the first spring dandelion greens for a spring salad to mushrooming in the woods in summer….. With more than 200 stunning photos and a sampling of Pepin’s own paintings, the book is a sentimental journey.”
M. Pepin is a dean at the French Culinary Institute and teaches culinary arts at Boston University. A little know historical fact is that M. Pepin worked for Howard Johnson’s on menu development when he first came to the states.
