Coexistence... what the farmer does with the turkey - until Thanksgiving.
- Mike Connolly
Here is what we strive for at Marczyk Fine Wines: to bring you the most delicious, best quality wines we can find at the very best price. We think that the wines of November are no exception. Wines you can and should be proud to serve, but not have a conniption when Aunt Janice fills her glass up to the very tippy top brim. Twice. November’s wines are food friendly and lovingly selected, from our home to yours.
Pinot Noirs of November - Nothing says turkey dinner quite like Pinot Noirs, so we are featuring a few Pinots this month. Delicious, affordable, and just right for the big dinner!
Bad Dog Ranch, Pinot Noir 2006. Sonoma, California.
This quirky and completely delicious Pinot is named Bad Dog after the winery’s Bull Mastiff who lives among the vines and nibble grapes from the vines. The wine is juicy, approachable and priced for any pocket book. Ripe with raspberries, cherries, plums, and a soft hint of oak that lingers all the way through the velvety finish.

Alfredo Roca, Pinot Noir 2006. San Rafael/Mendoza, Argentina.
Argentina’s most loved, best known wine is Malbec, so we were more than a little surprised when we tasted this delicious Pinot Noir. It comes from the heart of the Argentine wine country and is made by Mr. Alfredo Roca, a Spanish gentleman whose family has been producing wine there for over four generations. The wine, medium in body and seductively rich and silky, offers a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir that unites a Burgundian sense of terroir with lively New World character.

Desrayaud, Mâcon-Vergisson 2007. Burgundy, France.
Made from 100% Burgundian Chardonnay, this knock-out white is an annual favorite of ours from Maurice and Corine Desrayaud. Mâcon-Vergisson is a white wine that was born to go with food. Beautifully dry but with a fleshy character that leaves a lasting impression, this dry Chardonnay is one that we are always so happy to see arrive, and sad to see disappear. Good thing it’s going to a good home: yours!

The Palomino grape is typically used to make Sherry, but it can also produce a lovely white wine such as this. This charming dry white is graced with a fresh, clean nose and a crisp, flavorful palate. Barbadillo is best served well chilled and is just perfect as an aperitif or with a wide variety of tapas, poultry or seafood.

Brandborg, Or Blanc 2006. Elkton, Oregon.
We love Oregon because of wines like this! An homage to Alsace, the chosen grapes in Branborg Blanc are aromatic and floral Gewürztraminer, crisp, clean Riesling and ripe, rich Pinto Gris. Each grape brings its own distinctive characteristic to the wine. Bursting with fresh white peaches, grapefruit, honeysuckle and lemon blossoms, and bright fresh acidity, this is a delicious white wine at a price we think you’ll love.
