Solstice Weekend at Marczyk's
“Buy a Burger, Fund a Farmer” Friday. “Meet your Maker” Saturday.
Buy a Burger, Fund a Farmer.
On Friday, June 21, the Summer Solstice, Marczyk Fine Foods will donate a percentage of Friday Night Burger sales to the Niman Ranch Next Generation Scholarship Fund.
“When I was at Niman’s Hog Farmer Appreciation Dinner in Iowa last year, these scholarship winners were so appreciative,” notes Peter Marczyk. “Only 6% of American farmers are under 35 years old. We have to get financial support to the kids who want to stay on the land. This fund does that.”
When: Friday burger night, 6/21, 5:00-7:30pm.
Where: Both stores. 770 E 17th Ave., and 5300 E. Colfax Ave.
What: Denver’s tastiest burger (Niman Ranch of course) on a fresh bun with all the fixings.
How much: $7.99
Other: In person, meet the farmer’s daughter, Sarah Willis from Iowa. Sarah’s father and mother, Paul and Phyllis Willis were the original Niman Ranch hog farmers.
Saturday, June 22, Meet Your Maker.
